All Are Called... For Gender Justice
Join the UU Women’s Federation at our annual GA breakfast. We will enjoy food together, present our annual Sermon Award, and honor the women past and present who have helped bring about change in our movement around gender equity and justice.
Sermon Award Winner
Rev. Kimberley Debus is a community minister based in New York’s Capital Region, inspiring an artful and art-filled faith through large-scale worship and private consultation. She also provides sabbatical ministry support throughout the denomination. She has previously served congregations on the North Fork of Long Island and Key West. Debus will present her award-winning sermon, "How Not to Be a Boy."
When our panel of judges met to select the Sermon Award winner, every one of them named Debus' sermon among their top choices. They noted that the intriguing title, the expertly crafted text, and the wide variety of sources offer a fresh perspective on the conversation about gender justice. When you hear this sermon, you won't be able to keep quiet!
